Anyway, met Bee and Dajie at Bishan Interchange. Btw, I didn't even know Bishan has an interchange. When Bee told me to wait at the intercharge, I was like "Huh? Where's the interchange?" to myself. Heng I managed to locate the place la. The BUZZ shop there was cool though, they had posters of Achmed on Seventeen magazine looking very much like Ms Sun during the WMDYT period.
I half wanted to wait until at night to take the posters down. Too bad, temptation not big enough. Haha! Seems like only the sun can tempt me to do vandalism =x
Went to Xinyi's house to help carry the stuff. And woah, either I must be getting really old, or I've grown weak. Halfway through the walk to the interchange (it's about 10 minutes walk), my legs started to cramp la! TMD! I thought it will go off after a while, but it stayed until I was halfway through the bus journey to Changi Village.
Oh, the bus ride was damn long. Haha, but it didn't feel long as Bee was chatting with me about photography stuff. Truth be told, I never see her talk so much before leh. Okay lah, sometimes I still need to crank my ears way up to hear her buzzing, but that's okay. LOL. Even Panda said that she never hear Bee speaking that much before!
At about 4.30pm, we finally reached the chalet. Eh, it's actually not a bad place you know. It looks like a decent house, and there's a full set of kitchen stuff for us to use, heaters that are working in the bathrooms, and air cons that can be operated! And it's cheap if we have any civil servant lobangs leh.
Started the fire at about 5.30pm I think. Bloody hell, there were so many cats there la. I've had a fear of cats since I was scratched like eons of years ago. But these cats keep coming! In the end, luckily the photographers took the cats to the other side, or else I'll be freaking out by now. Anyway, cat pictures to come soon!
For most of the chalet, I spent my time with JM bbq-ing food. Seriously, Yanziunlimited should open a bbq service that charges people for BBQs, because I think we're quite good at it xD.
At about 12am I think (I completely lost my sense of time during the chalet), we started playing water bombs. It was totally crazy, I went to the toilet for a while, and when I came back, all the water bombs were gone already. BUT that JM came up to me (and she was in my team!), and threw the water bomb on me la! TMD! That wasn't the worst actually;
The photographers who were in the safe zone suddenly threw water down on us. Of course, we ran upstairs and tried to open the door. You know, it's like those battering rams and Panda and I were like throwing ourselves against the door, hoping to get it open. Suddenly, when we tried opening the door, the door didn't have any resistance.
Turned out that Xinyi was right behind with a pail of water, and I was right in front of her! But luckily, I siam-ed fast enough and poor Kaevan got the full blast of water. I almost ROFLMAO on the spot la! So we charged in and pailed Xinyi! Then, I went over to where UFO, Yamie and Bee was, hiding behind the blankets. They thought that by covering themselves with the blankets, they would be safe, cus we didn't wanna pay extra for damages.
But HECK CARE! I threw the water on them still, and okay lah, luckily the blankets were taken away before I threw the water xD Some of them even stood on the beds, but none of us cared. We just kept throwing water xD and ended up flooding the room xD. Along with the flood came a few of Bee's tong leis, who obviously drowned in the water. Poor things.
After we swept the extra water in to the drains, we adjourned down. Some of them continued the Meta marathon, while I continued bbq-ing outside. Haha! I think about 2am, I went in to watch Meta with them all the way until 7 plus. In fact, I told the meats to fast forward Yvonne's parts cus it was really too sad to see Wanrou going down the dark side =x
Of course, we didn't skip the last part la! Eh that was probably the part that got her the Best Actress leh!
Went to White Sands' Macs to eat breakfast, and then we headed home. We was so freaking tired that we slept on the train. Once I reached home, I plonked down on my bed and slept all the way! And I was like just in time to wake up for the concert, which IMO, didn't perform good enough. Haha. I was so tensed everywhere from the lack of sleep and it really showed in my playing.
But all the same, I was glad that I could play with alumnus like Cai Pei and Hafiz, and I hope that more percussionists will join the alumni soon! Then I don't need to play drumset every single time. GIVE ME MY TIMPANI!
Men should not accept our destiny, we should choose it.

FYP presentation was just over, so was my MD lab test. Both kena tekan like shit, basically. ESPECIALLY FYP! The lecturer, Mr Chay was relentless man, asking questions like mad. And I didn't know how to answer some of the questions too. WAH KNS! I seriously hope I pass the module.
Even if I pass FYP, there is another module which leaves me undue worries - MD. Today's lab test was crap, blame it on me not reading through the lab sheets. I really hope I can at least scrap through this subject with a D, give me a D and I'll be eternally grateful to my lecturer!
Tomorrow will be my MD test 2. THAT IS THE ULTIMATE KILLER! I haven't attended much lessons for topic 3 on mechanisms and that decision is starting to bear fruit now. Whenever I look at the examples, I have completely no clue what to do at all. Or else why you think I'm so free to blog?
Friday will be another test and that rounds up my series of tests I will ever have in SP, barring any repeat in modules of course. AEROSPACE MATERIALS. Even though I failed the previous test, I think I should pass overall la, because of the report and presentation of the assignment. :)
Come weekend, it'll be a weekend choke full of Yvonne again! Haha, thanks to Bee, I've seen some blogs of people who go around Mediacorp chasing any rat, ant, dog or cat in every corner. Very colorful vocabulary, I must say. But definitely nothing more than an actual air head if you get what I mean. Chasing one person is tiring enough leh actually, but chasing the entire Mediacorp?
WAH HIS STAMINA VERY GOOD!
Anyways, back to Yvonne. Attending a Lancaster beauty talk this Saturday. While I haven't registered, I'll be going down to see if I can register on the spot or else I'd have to wait outside with the others. Think it'll be quite interesting la, considering that all girls need to attend a beauty talk someday. Have to check my pockets though, they've been rather empty for the past few weeks, just like water is scarce in a desert. Sighs....
And on Sunday, I'll be camping at home to watch the new Giant variety show. And yes, Yvonne is appearing in the first episode. I can't wait actually, have seen the trailers for the show and Yvonne really looks crazy playing together. AIE, I wish I could have registered and played along too. How cool will that be man? Haha.
It's been rather long since I've updated anything on my wei yi, so here goes:
PICTURES FROM THE RECENT SEPIA ECO GARDENS PERFORMANCE IN MALAYSIA. My oh my, does she look ravishingly beautiful. Which is why, critics of me can never criticise who I love better. Isn't it obvious? Haha, although I have contact with Yvonne, but yeah. Yanzi and Yvonne are on the same level la.
Besides, they've gotten the recognition of TIAN HOU/YING HOU through their respective industry. Isn't that something to be proud of?
Btw, all credits of Yanzi photos are from Queen from YZULTD FC. Hehe, thanks Queen!
At the rehearsal:

The actual performance itself:

Shit, she's so pretty. Doesn't look like she's turning 30 though. LOL.
Below are some more pictures from the recent MD:
Me and my beloved mummy!
COUSINS AGAIN!
One of my best friends in life.
ENJOY!

A few pictures taken from the recent Rondeau and Musical Delights 2008. Finally me and Cindy have graduated! We always have our concert dates near each other and both of us will go to each other's concert. Finally we don't need to do that anymore! Hehe.

Ahhhh Percussion section 2007 photo. I LIKE!
The year 3 seniors from Percussion section.
Good news though. I've finally finished my FYP! xx months of slogging and worrying for this FYP has finally come to an end! I managed to do the impossible and completed the FYP report on Friday. Imagine the waves of relief and happiness that I felt. Now all that's left of my poly school life is to study hard for the upcoming tests and exams!
Just saw this from K and Myolie's expression is really funny! OMG! This scene is from War of In Laws II where Myolie offers tea to Liza Wang.

Yo! Yo! Yo! Ophelia! YumCha!
Credits to: http://tvb.windy-goddess.net/
Ophelia is Liza Wang's character name in the show. When I saw this, I literally ROFLMAO! Omg, Myolie is really funny! But I think she doesn't look good with long hair and Bosco's hair in the show is also very very bad! I haven't watched the first WOIL but I think it'll be a good show!

OMG! I just finished watching the last episode of The Golden Path! Aiyaaaaa, me and Bee were totally wrong! Initially I thought Felicia Chin died in the end! BUT SHE DIDN'T! Rougu-mei, Jin Long and Kaijie died in the end! *Mr Tay died! BOOHOOOOOO!
Rougu-mei was killed by Kaijie, and Jin Long actually had the chance to kill Kaijie but he didn't. Instead when he threw Rougu-mei's ashes into the sea, he took his own life. And Kaijie was stabbed and died when he was in hiding. There was this waiter who brought in his food and stabbed him.
I WILL KILL THAT WAITER FOR KILLING MY HUSBAND MAN!KNS
men should not accept our destiny,we should choose it.

MD XXXI was a success.
Whatever that happened in the rehearsal on Thursday night didn't happen on Sunday itself. We (the percussion section) double checked every instrument and made sure everybody's file was there. Accessories were all brought and yup, we were on the way to Victoria Concert Hall.
I think time passed very quickly because having set up the instruments, we were left with about half an hour to do sound checks and stuff. At 4pm, we had to go eat our lunch/dinner and change at the same time. The timing was like argh, very rushed for time.
Oh well, my gown was too big for me. But I couldn't help it; I have to play drum set and I need the extra clothing space!!! Anyways the concert began in full swing at 5pm. Die Meistersinger was good! I think the band did relatively well for this piece! The beginning note sounded good from where I was standing. Very very grand opening to the concert.
Next up; Ghost Train. I think Lao Ban was too excited, because he went damn fast in the middle. We were almost struggling to keep up with him man! Semiquavers at tempo=180 is not an easy feat considering we have to play it for about 30 odd bars T_T. But I'm glad we pulled it off man! Bar 124 was also another proud moment. Cus we played the parts altogether! Comments from audience was that we sounded together, and that's the best praise they can ever give to the percussion section!
Next Willson Suite. Haha, this was by far maybe the softest song that we played, because we played on reduced instrumentation. Not much comments about it though.
My do-or-die piece for the concert: The Inn of Sixth Happiness. I remember when I received this score, my eyes literally popped out because I had never seen so many timpani note changes on a single score itself. What started as out mission impossible became mission accomplished. I managed to pull it off yesterday night and I think I really did myself proud :) Well, one funny thing happened though. I was supposed to play a solo at the last few bars of the song, and I played it so hard that all the notes went flat after that =x
Interval! Pictures will be posted up later when I get it from various sources :)
I did not play for Orient Express and Flourish for Wind Band, so I don't have much comments man. But I think Orient Express was good. Sounded quite okay. Haha.
Tintin was expectable, that's all I can say. But I was damn loud on the low toms during the tribal part. Might be due to the reverbaration of the hall though. But I think it was very very very touching, even though Cindy said some section was out of tune. LOL.
I practiced very very hard for this piece: Galaxy Express 999!!! Initially I thought I couldn't do it, but I really want to thank my teacher, Arvin for teaching me patiently!!! And all that rehearsing paid off, because audience comments was that I felt relaxed! That's exactly the comment I want to hear, besides, Mrs Tan said I wasn't too bad on the drum set! WAHAHA! Double praise! Thank you Arvin!!!
All the year 3s had to go out in front of the stage during the encore song. Lol, I felt so pai seh standing in the middle. I want to be low-profile u know. Anyways the year 2s gave us flowers, and I think I'm allergic because I kept sneezing! LOL.
The year 3s played the 2 songs for the year 1s and 2s. And I think I saw some of them tearing. But okay la, wasn't exactly very sad ma.
Photo taking after that. And yes, pictures will be up later when I have them!
Just want to really thank my percussion section for giving me so much fun this entire year. Yes, even though there were up and downs during the course of rehearsing, but I'm really glad we all came together as a section and played together. I hope that this percussion chemistry can carry on forever and ever. Each of you have your strong traits, learn how to bring it out and utilize it to your full potential. And yes, WIN THE SECTION COMPETITION THIS YEAR!!!
To the year 3s: it's been 3 years! Yes, 3 years passes by so quickly when we're having fun! I can still remember when we came in fresh when Joyce was our section leader and how we played Marching Season for the section competition. Performing at Esplanade, going to Osaka, performing at VCH, performing for the Percussion Elementz Concert, every single thing. I am going to miss playing with you guys. And if Fate allows it, let's play together again one day!
Thank you to my family for coming down to support me! Thanks Mummy for the flowers! I love your unfailing support to me :) Thanks Allen, Xian and Weeliam for coming down to my last concert!
Thanks to Cindy for always coming to my concert, even though you had work to do. I think I can never find such a fan like you. LOL.
Thank you SP Band for giving me this chance to play in the band. I LOVE YA GUYS!
men should not accept our destiny,we should choose it.

I'm into the last 5 episodes of The Drive of Life! It's been an enjoyable show, as I've been able to watch a lot of my favourite TVB stars like Myolie, Jessica, Raymond! Plus, Damien's acting for this show has been superb! He lifts the whole show up and seriously without him, I think that the show would be a dread to watch!
The plots gets thicker each time, and Joe is the overall baddie in the show. However, Jessica keeps giving in to him, thinking that he will turn over a new leaf when he found out she's pregnant! But he didn't! Or rather, I know he wouldn't! To be honest, I don't like the pairing of Joe and Jessica. Maybe in the start when Joe was still good, I found myself rooting for this couple. But as I watch on, I get more and more repulsive of Joe's character! And I seriously wish that Jessica was with Michael in the first place. Sighsss...
Another pairing that I'm not a fan of is the popular Raymond and Charmaine pairing. I think the reason as to why I do not like this pairing is because I'm a huge Charmaine unsupporter, and I think she cannot act for nuts. Plus, I felt that in the show, Myolie and Raymond were a better couple!!!!!! But I have to admit, Charmaine's character is likeable, if I put some effort into not being so biased. But I can't eh.
Myolie rocks in this show! I can hardly remember any show that I don't like her at all. I mean, her acting is so natural and it just comes out just like that. At first, I really hated Raymond for throwing her aside and not chasing after her even if Myolie requested not too. (It means that Raymond does not love Myolie as much as Charmaine la!) But after that, seeing Myolie and Feng Shao Feng together was really cute! Although the dubbing for Feng Shao Feng sucks, but it's so sweet!
I just love the way the two of them became an item, from supporting each other whenever either one was down to looking after each other. And in Episode 55, Feng Shao Feng proposed to Myolie!!! And you can tell that it's the real deal this time, unlike the other time when Raymond proposed to Myolie because he was UNSECURE!
Gonna go and chiong the last 5 episodes! Chows!
After 5 episodes:
I have finally finished The Drive of Life! OMG, one of the best dramas I've watched this year! It suits my preference of dramas right up to an S man! Long episodes of drama to watch, with grand productions and a grand cast. What else can I ask for? Besides, I was SUPER DUPER impressed with Jessica's acting towards the last 3-4 episodes.
Never seen acting from her like that in a while already. And it really impressed me! Her crying scenes, her character is all too good! I still can remember the last episode when Damien wanted to phone to police to expose Joe, but Jessica begged and knelt down on the floor to ask Damien for another 3 hours to try to convince Joe. And how Damien said that Jessica's love for her family made him very proud of her.
"Do you know what makes me feel so proud for you? It's your love for your family. Even if Chun Pong [That's Raymond] stabbed Joe, you would have taken the blame for him. I know that you framed Chun Pong was because you were trying to protect him as you was afraid Wing Biu [That's Joe] would harm him. Subsequently, you rather bear with all the misunderstandings the family had towards you so that you can protect Chun Pong"
OMG I was so touched with this passage. Argh! Simply love Jessica in that scene!!!
Overall a 4.5/5 stars for me! Great show!

3) Darren Lim - Kinship 1

never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game
While today wasn't exactly a good day to start with, everything pretty much ended on a high once I got home. Firstly, the band had a cultural night performance rehearsal to attend. And that alone was quite taxing. I think not many members came for the rehearsal and it resulted in a shortage of manpower. Thank goodness there was the lorry. Haha.
When we got there, had to set up and stuff. And seriously, the rehearsal was quite sucky in my opinion. We had some staffs who were giving unrealistic instructions to us, like shifting the timpani out of the stage within 20seconds is quite an impossible thing. But since you give me the challenge, I will take it up =D
But I didn't regret going to the rehearsal, because I've experienced one of the most beautiful percussion music in my life, the angklong band. I mean, they're essentially a percussion band but with all those exotic instruments. Trust me, I was mesmerised when I saw them shifting the instruments out. Plus, Mrs Tan was the conductor.
The music was just surreal! And I was super in awe of Mrs Tan. Had heard so much about her from Mr Tan, and here I was, able to see her conducting and I was even given the chance to speak to her. =D Even though we don't know each other properly, I was really impressed by her. Maybe I'm just too excited to see Mrs Tan. LOL.
The good ting? She's coming to the percussion concert this Sunday! Extra motivation to play well. Plus Mr Yeow's playing timpani for one piece, and he's a damn good player! The feeling's actually different compared to meeting Yanzi. You know it feels like meeting a very professional player whom you really admire is different from meeting your idol. I don't exactly know how to describe it.
Anyways other than the logistics of the entire rehearsal, I felt that listening to the angklong play is already a reward itself. I really feel like joining the angklong band. Especially one that is conducted by Mrs Tan. =D
The 2nd highlight of the day was when Psycho told me that she got Myolie's autograph for me at the airport! I should have gone so that I can get her autograph myself, but thanks to Psycho anyway! I can actually feel that Myolie is near me somewhere in Singapore and I was totally psyched up about it.
Another bonus was that Myolie won the Best Actress Award in Comedy!!!!! Actually I was torn between two sides: Myolie and Jessica. In any case, if either of them won, I would have been just as happy =D Congratulations Myolie! It's definitely better than TVB Awards la!
A good day definitely. And one to remember by =D
men should not accept our destiny,we should choose it.
never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.
And Itunes is giving me trouble now. I wonder if it's the computer problem or what. Argh, no matter what I'm going to downgrade it to Windows XP once I have the time to visit Sim Lim Square again.
Anywas, yet another reason to love Cindy. LOL. I think she has recently developed the uncanny ability to voice out exactly what I feel and blogging it at her blog. It makes things more convenient for me.
1) I don't have to type out what I feel
2) Coming from an outsiders' perspective will always be better than what someone from the inside says
3) I feel that someone actually shares my point of view
Here's an excerpt from Cindy's blog:
Precisely the point I've been trying to make the whole year round. Trust me, if you guys know how to plan your time right and prioritise everything, you will be able to make it for band practices and sectionals. If need be, skip when you have too much work to do. But that is only once in a blue moon, using work, projects etc as an excuse not to come for sectionals IS NOT AN EXCUSE AT ALL.
The year 3s have FYP, thousands of tests and projects to hand in, and what with lecturers telling us that this last semester will not have as good results as the previous ones due to time constrain, you would think that the year 3s will faint. I've been falling sick more often because of the humongous amount of stress this semester, even WL has noticed that. But I still make it an effort to come to band UNLESS IM INCAPACITATED.
Moreover, the year 3s in the section have our upcoming percussion gig nationwide, and if you think it's not taking a toll on us, you're wrong. We're all exhausted, but we're still running this final lap with all the gusto and energy we've left in our bodies. I think a Nobel prize should be given to us man.
Even if there are times you guys can't come, just pluck up your damn guts to sms or call me saying that you're unable to make it, and not act like a coward and don't sms. Better still, hope and wait that I don't question you guys. I want to question you guys why, but I have to keep in mind you guys' dignity and I trust that you guys really had something important hence the skipping of sectionals. But can't you guys just pick up the damn phone and sms? If you guys can sms your friends/girlfriends/boyfriends/parents/dog whatsoever, I don't see the reason why you can't sms just one more time to tell me so.
Another excerpt from Cindy's blog:
Yup, taking pride in your playing. I realise that it's not your concert, but the year 3s treasure this final concert very much. This will be our last concert in SP Band, and we definitely want to leave with good memories, and not memories of regret for not being able to play well. Do this favor unto us, as when it's you guys' turn to graduate, you will feel the same way.
I have always stressed that making music is only when you have passion for it. So what if you have the skills or the musicality in you but fail to come for band, and YET GIVE ME AN ATTITUDE? That definitely does not make you qualified as a good player, instead a player that brings the whole section down together. Don't you guys feel ashamed for bringing other people down with you?
I don't know about it, but I'll definitely be ashamed. Which is why I practice and practice. Even if I can get that part correct, I have to practice until I cannot get that part wrong. Practice doesn't mean that once you get it correct, skip to the next part. Practicing means being able to understand that particular passage, play it until you will never play it wrong again.
We may not be the best players on Earth, but with practice I can be sure that we'll not be the worst players on Earth. At least we can raise our heads high and say 'We've practiced and given it our best shot' and leave the concert hall feeling satisfied. Cliched, you might say, but true. I can remember Bukit Batok Secondary School's motto: BE OUR BEST.
Yes, be our best. Do the best that we can. So that no one regrets anything, and we'll all be able to leave with a happy perception of everything. Work well Percussion Section and please don't let me and the other year 3s down. We'll be grateful for that.
men should not accept our destiny,we should choose it.
never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.

so to say that metamorphosis rocks is a truly justifiable statement =D
this week's current viewership for metamorphosis. 1.01 million!!!! WOOOHOOOO!
a quick recap on the story. because ouyang went to chase shaoqi by car, he resulted in killing wanrou's father and brother. upon hearing the news, wanrou's mother collapsed as she couldn't accept the fact and fell ill. wanrou's initial love for ouyang turns to hate [because love is the direct opposite of hate] and she slapped him at her father and brother's funeral. that scene was really sad. because ouyang couldn't retaliate at all as it was his fault in the initial place. but he really wanted to make it up to wanrou.

wanrou then tells ouyang that they initially had a beautiful dream together and they could have progressed further. but his heroic tendencies led to her whole family being killed. and her perfect world was shattered apart. what really added the oil to the fire was that wanrou's mother passed away after wanrou went back down. ouyang was so upset that he went drinking and blah blah. he turned up at wanrou's house and she was so full of hatred for him that she charged with him at a knife. asking her to kill him, wanrou spares no thought and tries to kill ouyang but xiaoqian turns up jus in time.
on the other hand, xicun and xiaoqian are getting along well. they're helping wanrou get back together. and one day xicun plans a surprise proposal party and finally touches xiaoqian's heart. xiaoqian agrees to marry him. xicun in the meantime finds out that wanrou shares the same philosophy as dragontooth and invites her to be part of the organisation. she joins dragontooth and succeeds in using hypnotism for her first mission - to kill the novelist luo shen.
btw, hypnotism is really scary. imagine that you're completely defenseless and you're totally vulnerable to everything. someone else is controlling your mind in the meantime and you wouldn't have an inkling of what actually happened. so therefore i've made up my mind to read up about hypnotism and prevent people from using that on me. =D
oh, xiaoqian finds out that xicun belongs to dragontooth. jus when everything was smooth sailing for her! but she didn't confront him about that issue. i duno why. but the next episode will tell alot of tings. WHICH I CANT WATCH BECAUSE I HAVE BAND!
on the academic side, this semester's doing pretty well. i've been attending lessons and listening to lessons. actually i found out that if i really concentrate i can grasp the topic well. i've been wasting my time in school for 2.5 years already. let me try to make amends on this last semester. i have confidence that i will do well :)
on the band side, it's going pretty well. many gigs coming up. im seriously wondering im going to cope with everything, but i have confidence that i can. 4 MD pieces are settled and they're not easy pieces man. i cant wait to actually work on them. one of the songs require me to bring my timpani skills to a higher level man. i love challenges.
men should not accept our destiny, we should choose it.
never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.
and besides it's the first time i officially lead the section and especially the year 1s for their first SP public concert. lol.
reported to school late because me and wl had to write the messages to the year 1s to encourage them. and while i hoped we actually accomplished that mission, it is to their credits that they really put in the effort to practise their parts. also, while i might not be as tactful as other people, but i do believe saying what i am thinking in my head is the best way to improve. =D=D
jus terribly proud of my juniors. and special thanks to my buddy wl for helping and putting up with my weird-ness all this while! LOL. i don't deny that i am weird. and also special thanks to the rest of the seniors: randy, afiq, jamil and ogy for making time to come down to practise even though you guys have itp and have super little parts to play. thanks for ur understanding.
finally, thanks to the juniors for putting up with me all these while. if i ever offended you guys, im sorry. i didn't mean it. but pls do not take it personally, because i will never target someone personally, but rather for the things that someone has done. :)
took lots of pics!but i duno where the pics are man. but i took pictures with all my juniors!but omg i didn't take with my fellow bitch-linda!

went to thompson prata house after packing up with wl, kelly and afiq.lol. the others pang-sehed!first time percussion went to a different place for supper man. and omg we ate until damn full. the mushroom and cheese prata was tops!WAHAHA!and the briyani and murtabak was good too. i have a feeling im too old already, because i felt the milo dinosaur was too freaking sweet!LOL
cabbed and reached home around 12.30am. that's early already. during the post-joyce,jerm,jo days, we could chat until 2am man. but that was with the help of teh tariks soooo. =D
slept at ard 2am because was doing some other stuff. but the next day there was BBSS cultural night!!!and i totally didn't get enough sleep. was supposed to meet cindy near KAP at 10.15am. but she came at 10.45am . LOL. but it's okay. because im used to it wahahaha. went to ACS barker where we had to get ready for the matinee performance.
to tell the truth, i was sight-reading saint and the city timpani score the whole way lol. because i haven't played through the song before. and the blardy timpanis were so off tune man. now i can cherish the SP timpanis because they are way better than the ones in BBSS. so after matinee performance, we had to slack around.
performed for the night one, where we had to play like 3 encores?!?!that's crazy man. the crowd was quite good. but the fanfare to welcome the VIPs was shitty. because half of us didn't know that mr goh was gonna appear at the door. LOL. i was like WTH?! luckily we didn't break down haha.
went to KAP for supper [i have been eating that for many many days already]. and den andrew sent me and cindy home. thanks drew. =D
reached home and slept at 2am again. but the next day was worser. because i had an important event to attend, which i will blog about it in the next post. LOL.
now for a SUPER DUPER CUTE VIDEO!i love all the MVs which selina of S.H.E does with her male leads. first it was ashin, now it's LEE HOM!omg he's so freaking handsome. and i dun deny that selina is the perfect person to shoot the MV with.!

i duno why but blame it on my poor organisational skills and not knowing how to prioritise tings. i've actually put band right on top of everything and neglected my studies. somehow i feel alot of the year 3s in the band are doing the exact same ting. i duno why, but i jus feel so tired of studying and rushing to complete assignments.
as a matter of fact, my results for this semester hasn't been exactly excellent or even average. i would say they're infact sub-par and super below average. i duno what is happening to me. jus feel like giving up this damn course. i hate this course.
jus realised that i missed a CSW test today. and im quite angry with myself for missing it. now i dun even know if i can pass it. wth. i hate it i hate it. now im faced with a moutain of workload man. and i cant even start doing because i dun know a damn about going about to do it. i dun have a confidante anymore in the same course where i can share everything. i have to do everything myself. on top of that, fyp project is exactly flying off to a start. argh.
it's the morning before the concert already. already worked hard for this 3 months. trying to prove myself as a credible SL and hoping that the juniors have learnt something from me as well as the other seniors. i really hoped that i have given them the respect that everyone should deserve and subsequently i hope that i earn their respect too.
it's been a long and trecherous road for all of us. really watching all of you guys grow to become more mature players than you were before in 3 months is considered a wonderful experience to me. i can still remember vividly how all of us met each other and how each and every one of you come from a different background. and that everything had to be instilled.
i loved how you guys could work together and come down for self prac together. i loved the way that everyone has improved. some from a percussion background, some not from a percussion background. and i hope that you guys have learnt something enriching from this IBM.
i am sorry if i ever seemed too harsh on you guys. i jus feel that i cant be spoonfeeding all of you everytime. and that you guys have to go and try and ask around. i will never scold if you guys ask, but if you guys do not ask and do not dare to play, i will scold. because life is about daring to do things that u have never done before; and knowing that you can do a damn well job out of something new.
trust me, you guys will become better players. really feel proud of having these juniors. and this will be my second last concert with SP, barring any possibilities that i might retain of course. i jus hope that we'll do well and enjoy the music. lastly, peace.
hope that you guys will somehow stumble onto this and read it. cus i will never say this out in real life. this is the only time you'll get to see me so vulnerable.
and im tired.

yes, sometimes i hate myself for being irresponsible at times too. but i definitely know when i should be responsible and learn how to put my priorities right. thanks to ms hang who was my sec 2 math teacher.
i remember the last post i was jus saying that i would be a bystander at the IBM concert. because there were too many percussionists. now i totally take that back. i am going to have lesser percussionists.
what turned out to be one of the most bountiful intake of percussionists there ever was in SP turned out to be a fraud. a total fraud. what i got was numbers, yes. but what i got BACK IN RETURN were jus uninterested people who thought nothing of saying 'oh i wanna join the band', 'yes im interested, and won't quit'
now i have idiotic irresponsible [dun force me to use an explicit vulgarity] people telling me 'i cannot cope with my work and band. i wanna quit the band. so i won't come from today onwards'
DO YOU TINK THAT BAND IS JUS FOR U TO SAY WANNA QUIT DEN QUIT?
if you tink it's that easy, trust me. it's not. i've been there and done that. and once u turn ur back on SP band, there's no turning back. right from the start when u introduced ur names to me, i already told u guys that u have to learn how to juggle between school and work. and it's just the first year. if it's already like this, den i cannot foresee how you guys can actually cope in year 2.
irresponsibility and lack of sense of time. that's all i have to say.
all the hopes i had for the section are jus dashed.
am watching glittering days right now. and im super in love with the song that roger sings for liza. AND IM TRYING TO FIND IT!!!!

GLITTERING DAYS
Main Characters:
Liza Wong, Roger Kwok, Charmaine Sheh, Susanna Kwan, Chris Lai, Paul Chun, Sharon Chan
What, When, Where & Who
The story is about the entertainment world during the 60s in Hong Kong. Liza Wong and Susanna Kwan are both singing teachers, who used to be very famous. Liza's music group travels a lot to find a place to sing, then Liza met Roger Kwok, who was a very famous singer. The two of them hated each other, but later Liza found out Roger is her own son. At the same time, Liza is also having trouble finding the right student. Then Liza found Charmaine Sheh, she began to teach Charmaine the singing skills. When Charmaine gets famous, Roger's career went to downhill. Even though Charmaine and Roger love each other, but they can't find the right reason to be with one another..
THE FACTORS
- Love Factor -
Susanna Kwan
At first, I have no idea who she is! Then, I realized she got the most amazing voice in the series. I also realized she sang a lot of classic TVB theme-songs before. Other than her singing, she is also a very talented actress. In this series, she plays Chris Lai's mother, who doesn't want her son to step into the entertainment world. However, Chris' love and passion about music slowly changed Susanna's mind. Then, she also found out she has cancer. In the very last days of her life, she sang the most amazing song, and that will make you cry like crazy, her voice, her tears and the beautiful song will melt your heart... "Just live for you for a day, this is my wish..."
Roger Kwok
"Mei Lan, Mei Lan, I love you.." Watching Roger sing is a great pleasure, even though he was doing lip-singing for some of the songs. That's ok, I still enjoyed his performances. From the beginning, he was so famous, and he didn't care too much about others, sometimes he expect too much from his band and dancers. Later, his career went downhill, he become a poor guy, but still in love with music. With Liza's help, he became a comedy singer. From all perspective, Roger did a great job in singing, dancing and performing.
Charmaine Sheh
Charmaine was so funny at the beginning when she could not speak well. It's funny that she can not pronounce any words clear. Also, when she takes her pig to the city, that's the most funny part in the series. In the city, Charmaine slowly matures and becomes a famous singer, but her love life wasn't so successful. When Charmaine becomes lucky and famous, Roger becomes unlucky. Charmaine tries so hard to help Roger, only found out Roger is looking down to himself...
- Dislike Factor -
Why 30 episodes?
There are some unnecessary parts in the series, which are totally useless. Those parts make you feel the series is dragging. I think this series will be perfect within 20 episodes, cutting some parts off (just don't cut the singing parts, I really enjoyed the singing parts).
Joel Chan
You will hate him when he betrayed Roger. He is so selfish, so useless, but he likes to get everyone's attention.
- Chemistry Factor -
Charmaine and Roger
They have a good chemistry. I love both of them, and I think they make a great couple on TV. The only thing is, they didn't share too much time together. That's a pity.
The Three Golden Flowers
I love to hear them sing and perform together! Especially hearing Susanna Kwan's voice, it's amazing!
Liza and Roger
Very interesting mother and son relationship, they hated each other in the beginning, but only found out they are mother and son. However, for Roger, he didn't find out this relationship until the very last episode. It's a little strange to see Roger hating Liza for 29 episodes, and changed all the sudden.
the ending is a good ending =D=D

i have a psychology presentation to do, and i've yet to touch it. zzz im soooo dead la. the worst ting is that i dun wanna tie down the group. so I SHALL do it after i finish blogging
HALLELUJAH!the day of death beckons upon us. because today is the first day of the NEW GST RISE!
anyways tests are coming up the next week and kor's wedding is next sunday!have yet to get clothes for it yet man!so i feel like buying a nice pair of jeans to go with my shirt so that i can wear my prada bag!xD so xian shall go jeans shopping with me.
went to NP's concert ytd. very different from the past NP concerts i've been to. and haha i realised that i have been to every single NP concert since i graduated from BBSS. because cindy is inside, so as a fan club member i must go there and support her. lol. but the funny ting is that i wasn't too high ytd. only screamed her name once man!
repertoir was quite okay. alot of james swearingham songs hor. and the music is quite tune-friendly. jus that i wasn't very impressed with the whole band together. alot of individual good players, but funny ting is that when they come together and play, it feels weird. mebbe im being too critical. but jus a penny for my thoughts. [sorry if i offend any NP people, jus saying my honest comments]
marching season by the percussion section was okay. tink we played better in year 1. cus i tink this time the keyboards covered everything. so i cant hear all the instrumentation. but NP is sooo lucky!they have 5 timpanis. haha. and double of every instrument. mallets got double. wah so not fair. SP is so stingy. jus buy another marimba or xylo for us can!i dun mind not having the fifth timpani =D
cindy played flute for marching season. LOL. totally couldn't hear her at all. but at the parts where i can really hear her. she played well. but that's jus my biased comment?haha. but the best piece of the whole concert was andante cantabile. because the flautist who was playing it played it so beautifully. omg. although the song is short, but still very nice!!!!
about another month more and it'll be IBM concert. by then, cindy will come to my concert to support me. hahaha. but i will be more of a bystander than a player. there's too many percussionists in SP already!!!!

woke up earlier so that we could have a head start for USJ. but as usual, whenever there's a fun day, that's sure to be a day where it would rain. and rain heavily!
what a bummer man. but i think all of our moods were too good to let some small rain dampen it. so when we reached there, we got too high upon seeing this big universal global sign!
if cheetahs are the fastest mammal on earth, i tink they would soon be overtaken by a over enthusiastic group of sp band people. including me. LOL. i can swear we were like jus rushing for the entrance getting ready to play man!
but first, the moment we stepped in. i saw this super big and cute penguin. and EVERYBODY just started crowding around it, begging to take pictures. it's a good ting that i was 'ba dao' enough to get a pic. but joyce couldn't. haii. nvm, i can photoshop the picture next time =x
the penguin actually looked right into my eyes and it was as if we were kissing liddat. muahahaha. initially i got a little scared off, but what the heck. all in the name of fun xD
thus headed off in a big group, where we decided to sit the amazing adventure of spider man first!and damn, the queue was damn long. but amazingly, we didn't wait long. because we were entertained by alot of life murals and cartoon regarding spiderman.
love this pic alot. cus it looks super duper 3d to me
the evil venom
we had to wear on this 3D glasses while inside the ride. and trust me, we look silly. LOL
the ride was way damn cool. we kept screaming for no reason and there was cold water to spray on us etc etc. at one point of time, there was a sudden flash. which we didn't know turned out to be a photo taken of our silly faces. LOL when i have the photo i will post it up again. den you guys can see how silly i look LOL
next we headed for the 'back to the future' ride. that was damn boring. it's jus a simulation ride. and we thot that they would at least have a camera at some point to take us. so we jus kept doing the victory cutesy sign. to no avail. it was so damn boring that we were actually talking about the other cars that were above us in the same ride. LOL
the back to the future car
went for backdraft the next. nothing much to say about that ride. only that it was a production on how the movie was made and it was actually quite boring. as it was in japanese. haha. but the ending was good. they actually blowed up the entire set in real fire and kerosene. way cool. hahaha.
next up: JURASSIC PARK!this was easily the best ride that i went on the whole day. and this ride is actually the one that im most scared of. log flume ride. wahaha. but seeing that everyone was going together, jus go lo.
bought ponchos. and the boat was big enough to allow all of us to ride together. muahahhaa. the beginning was boring. and we thot the ride was going to be quite lame. but all of a sudden. the boat took a dip and ALL OF US were like screaming like hell. the worst ting was that, they took a picture of us UNKNOWINGLY AGAIN.
so when we got out we saw the pictures. and omg. laughable can!haha. all of us had such a shocked expression on our faces, and some of us were like GRABBING ON TO EACH OTHER. hahahhaa. hence, we were not satisfied. went for the second time. this time it was better. we forced ourselves to smile and give the victory sign. but as soon as the flash went off, all of us screamed like hell and hung on for dear life. LOL
that was my last ride of the day already. because the others wanted to go on the rollercoaster next. and i definitely cant ride a rollercoaster. so i sat that out. and along the way, we lost joyce and juliet and stephanie. hahaha. totally couldn't find them at all man.
anyway the rollercoaster was quite spectacular.
i don't regret not sitting it man
so with nothing much to do, i started taking LOTS AND LOTS OF PICTURES!and that day 14-6-2007 is a day to be remembered. because i have never spent so much in my life before. all the money that i had saved for the past 3 days were all spent on today. seriously. i never bought so much tings before in a day in my life before!
so now's the time for the pictures i took.
me and charlie brown
me and woody woodpecker. i tried to imitate him.
bernie!and this super cute japanese escort. xD
ernie!and his super cute ANGMOH escort.
i duno what's his name!
me and betty boop. hiao person xD
me and princess fiona. although she's super far from cameron diaz.
IM FAMOUS!!!!
HELLO KITTY!
elmo!my fave char in sesame street!
cookie monster!he looks damn freaking furry.
me at sesame street!
super duper cute violinist!
me and our tour guide. MS AKIKO!
went out of USJ where i met back up with joyce and the rest. and we stepped inside hard rock cafe. and i really wanna thank joyce!because i saw this beautiful pair of sticks that i had to buy. even though it cost 25bucks T_T
it's the one with the hard rock cafe sign on it. BEAUTIFUL ISN'T IT?
anyways went back to the hotel. where we had the last few hours to shop. so me and joyce and juliet went out to the railway stalls where we had been going for the past few days. especially the 390YEN shop! i decided to buy the ties for IBM and hell, we spent half an hour there throwing whatever we could buy into the basket. i ended up spending about 100bucks at the shop buying some 20items. T_T
bought a super nice umbrella. and oh ya, one more ting. there was this girl at a clothes shop. and she was ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. i tell you,if i ever become lesbianic. it's because of her man. omg omg omg. freaking beautiful!!!!!!! hahaha. i wanted to ask her if she could take a picture with me, but i forgot to bring my camera out! T_T
the shops finally closed at 9pm. we decided to settle upon some ramen. [we totally did not touch ramen at all in japan] and omg. heavens! i will swear never to eat ramen in singapore again. the ramen there is jus delicious. simply haven!
went back to the hotel where we started to display our tings that we bought. and im very very proud to announce that this is the first time i have ever done such a ting and SPENT 500BUCKS in japan within 4 days of shopping. xD
wanna know the outcome?
one bed full of stuff. =x
total weight of all my stuff put together. almost 20kg T_T!!!! i almost overshot my criteria. and the baggage that was to be cargoed was only 12kg. meaning i was carrying almost 8kg worth of hand luggage on board.WAH CAN DIE U KNOW!
reached back in singapore.
HOME SWEET HOME!
jus in time for the final reduction in the GREAT SINGAPORE SALE!hahaha
that concludes my japan trip review!pls plspls some kind soul bring me to osaka again!i love that place!
men should not accept our destiny, we should choose it.
