There seem to be plenty of events around this time of the year, because I feel that I keep posting blog entries that are related to events, for instance, the tvb events, Yanzi's Love Amplified concert, Mediacorp's 45 Anniversary.

I'm actually going to post a blog entry about another event, this time though, although lesser fans than the events stated above, can be considered as one of the most personal events that I've attended my whole life.

I attended the autograph session of Peifen's debut telemovie 想你的时候! It wasn't a big event at all, heck it was held at Jurong Point, where it'll soon be consumed by the overwhelming population of some certain people that we don't like. "唐人街" if you get what I mean, hehe!

Peifen was soooooooo pretty as usual! And oh, this is the first time I saw Joshua up close too, I must say, he still hasn't lost his charm and his bad boy look. In fact, he's still good looking, and probably up-ed the man factor in him, since he went to NS already.

I've watched the movie already, and I must say, although the acting criteria doesn't meet the mark, but the tone and delivery of the crucial message in the movie deserves thumbs up!

Watched [Red Cliff] today. And wow, I never enjoyed a chinese movie for such a long time before. The last time I could remember loving a chinese movie was when I watched [Infernal Affairs]


Similar points about [Red Cliff] and [Infernal Affairs]. Both shows starred Tony Leung. I mean, Tony Leung is just the number 1 ultimate movie star in Asia la! He doesn't need to do anything except move his eyes to show the emotion that he's supposed to give. And for someone like me, who has JUST watched [Lust, Caution]. this is like a total 180 degrees change man!

Anyway, the cinematography in [Red Cliff] is just so beautiful. It amazes me how big a scale of a movie set directors can film. It's just breathtaking. The fight scenes were great too. At least for someone who doesn't know Romance of the Three Kingdoms that much, I could differentiate the bad guys (those with circle shields) and the good guys (those in rectangular shields). LOL!

Acting, is needless to say. Everyone did well. I mean for such a long and taxing movie which was set in the period times, the show could easily sway to boring leh. But the show was kept alive with the subtly put jokes and the acting. The funniest part was seeing Zhuge Liang help a horse give birth. HEHE!

I was amazed at seeing the scene where Zhou Yu and Zhuge Liang used zithers to 'battle' and test each other out. And within the music they played, they actually conveyed the message that each wanted to pass. Super intense!!! The formations used during the battles could also put football managers into shame man! Muahaha!

So waiting for part 2 of [Red Cliff] to come out la! I hope Zhou Yu and Zhuge Liang don't become enemies. And I hope Sun Shangxiang gets together with Zhuge Liang! LOL! And I hope Cao Cao dies! He's such a meanie la!

Red Cliff deserves a 4.2/5 stars for me!

Been watching movies these past few weeks man! Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, and I've watched 2 movies in the past 3 days: Hancock and Get Smart.

Sypnosis as usual first!

John Hancock is an unhappy, alcoholic superhero who is living in his own miserable and lonely world. He has saved numerous lives in Los Angeles over the years, but in doing so has caused widespread property damage costing the city millions of dollars. The public has had enough of Hancock, and want him to either stop or move to another city. One day, Hancock saves Ray Embrey, a public-relations spokesperson whose attempts to market his world-changing "All-Heart" charity aren't gaining traction, from being run over by a train (in the process causing a massive derailment in Hancock's haphazard manner). Ray feels he owes Hancock his life, and he makes it his mission to change Hancock's public image for the better.

Ray persuades Hancock to go to prison so that the public will realize how much they need him. He reluctantly agrees and after a month the Chief of Police calls him to help save an officer who is pinned down in a chaotic bank robbery shootout. Hancock saves the officer, removes the gang, and cuts the hand off the gang's leader, who is holding a dead man's switch on a detonator.

After the rescue, Hancock becomes popular once more, as Ray had predicted. Ray and his wife Mary go out to dinner with Hancock, where he relates how he woke up 80 years earlier with no memories of his life. Later that night, while Ray sleeps after passing out from drinking too much, Hancock discovers that Mary has super powers as well. Mary reveals that they are members of an ancient race and are at least 3,000 years old. The race eventually died out because of their weakness which causes its members to lose their powers when in close proximity to one another. Members of this race were created in pairs, and are inevitably drawn towards each other; she is Hancock's "other half" and former wife. She left him after he lost his memory after an attack in order to keep him from losing his powers.

Mary and Hancock have a brief fight over revealing this fact to Ray, inadvertently doing just that in the process. Hancock starts to lose his powers and is shot twice in the chest when he attempts to stop a liquor store robbery. When he is admitted to the hospital, the news media covers it, thus revealing his location. Shortly before this the news had also revealed that the one-handed robber had escaped, along with two other men, whom Hancock attacked and humiliated during his first day in prison. The three villains converge on the hospital and Mary is shot while attempting to protect Hancock. Hancock finishes off the two henchmen, but is still severely wounded. Just as he is about to be killed by the one-handed criminal, Ray grabs a fire axe and chops the robber's other hand off, thus saving Hancock. To save Mary, Hancock leaves the city, restoring both of their powers. The film ends with Hancock accepting his role as a hero and living in New York City, letting Ray and Mary live a normal life while remaining their friend. He calls them on the phone one evening as they walk along the Santa Monica Pier and has them look up to the sky. He has painted Ray's All-Heart logo on the moon as a thanks.

Well, actually I had quite a low expectation for this show as I read from 8days that the pacing of the show wasn't very steady. To my surprise, I found the show better than my expectation and I actually quite enjoyed it. Although the front part of the show was damn jerky due to the director adopting a 'natural' feel, the show slowly smoothened out and the best part was at the back when Hancock jumped further and further away to save Mary.

You can actually see that he's getting more distance between his jumps as he goes further and further away from Mary, and that Mary's wounds are healing by itself as Hancock goes further and further away. It's like two parallel lines you know. LOL!

Overall Hancock deserves a 3.3 out of 5 stars from me!

Maxwell Smart, the top analyst of the top secret USA intelligence agency CONTROL, hopes to become a Field Agent like his idol, Agent 23, but despite scoring extremely well in the acceptance tests Max is denied the promotion because the Chief of CONTROL thinks Max is too valuable as an analyst. This changes when CONTROL headquarters is attacked by their arch-enemy, the terrorist KAOS organization led by Siegfried, and almost all of CONTROL's Agents are exposed and killed. Max becomes Agent 86 and is partnered with Agent 99, whose recent plastic surgery has protected her identity, while former field operatives like 23 are demoted to desk jobs.

Max and 99 travel to Russia on a mission to determine how KAOS has been getting nuclear weapons. Along the way, Max slowly proves to 99 that despite his inexperience and clumsiness he is actually a good field agent. Max also begins to show, as does 99, that he has slight feelings for her, and she for him. However, 99 does not want to have a relationship with any agent, as she blew a mission due to her being in a relationship with one (who turns out to be Agent 23). The pair try to infiltrate KAOS's Moscow nuclear weapons factory, which is disguised as a bakery, and even though Siegfried has been expecting them, Max and 99 overpower the guards and plant explosives that will bury the nuclear weapons under rubble. Max even saves both 99's life and his own by helping one of Siegfried's henchmen, a man named Dalip (Dalip Singh), with his marriage problems using information gleaned from his analyst work. The Chief sends 23 to oversee clean-up of the bakery, but 23 reports that he has found no evidence of nuclear weapons, causing CONTROL (and an upset 99) to believe that Max is a double agent.

Siegfried threatens to distribute nuclear weapons to unstable dictators unless the US Government pays him $200 billion, and decides to establish the credibility of his threat by destroying Los Angeles with a nuclear bomb during the President's visit. The US Vice-President doesn't believe CONTROL's claims that KAOS is a serious threat so the Chief, 99 and 23 go there to try and personally convince the President, to no avail. Dalip sends Max (who is in custody in Washington D.C.) a tip-off about the bomb via a radio call-in show, so Max escapes custody, equips himself with vintage items from the CONTROL museum (such as the shoe phone) and travels to Los Angeles himself to meet with the Chief and tell him about the bomb. Agent 23 doesn't believe Max's claims or his innocence, even though the Chief and 99 do. This, plus the fact that Max detects trace radiation on 23 (who had walked through the Moscow nuclear facility), causes Max to realize that 23 is the double agent. 23 takes 99 hostage and flees with the bomb's radio detonator, and Max and the Chief give chase. 23 ties up 99's hands and barefeet tightly together and locks her in his car. They save 99, with Smart kissing Agent 23, which was a trick to distract him and kicks him into the flaming, track-led government GMC Yukon. When Max and 99 are stuck to the car, Max saves 99 by throwing her to the ground while he tries to cut himself free. 99 looks up and sees the car, 23, the detonator, and supposely, Max, destroyed by the oncoming train. 99, extremely upset about Max's death, says out loud that she wished they had more time together too, an answer to a question Max asked her earlier. Suddenly, Max appears, shocking her, saying he "missed it by that much." 99 kisses Max. The three realize that the bomb, hidden in Walt Disney Concert Hall where the President is attending a concert, will be triggered when the orchestra plays the final notes of Beethoven's "Ode to Joy'. Reaching the Hall just in time, Max tackles the conductor, stopping the orchestra and stopping the bomb. During Siegfried's escape, the terror mastermind insults Dalip once too often and Dalip throws him out of their car off a bridge and into a river.

The heroes celebrate their success in CONTROL headquarters. The President is very impressed with the agency, especially Max's heroics. Max and 99 begin not-so-secretly dating and have bought a puppy, named Fang. The film ends with Max and 99 leaving CONTROL through the set of high-tech security doors; of course, Max can't leave the last door, which doesn't close, alone and pries it shut with his pocket knife, causing the door to close on him and a mini harpoon to stick him in the cheek.

THIS SHOW IS HILARIOUS! OMG, I super duper love this show. Wahaha. I still remember when the show came out, I was like 'Okay, another superhero show' but I totally changed my opinion after watching this. Although this show is an action film, but it explores the fact that villians are still humans and that they have weak points.

Steve Carell is like the best person to play this role. And his partnership with Anne Hathaway is not disgusting leh! On the contrary, I like the partnership and I can sense the sweetness between them, from how Agent 99 looked down on Agent 86, to falling in love with each other. And when Agent 86 saved 99 by throwing her down, and Agent 99 thought he died, wah so sweet can!

Oh and there was that wrestler who acted as the big guy. LOL! He was so enormous man! Easily lifting off both Agent 86 and 99. When he used the secret message to send Agent 86, it showed that with love, someone can turn over a new leaf. And who's to forget the old shoe telephone and exploding dental floss, and flamethrower Swiss Army knives. LOL!

Oh, and I loved the part when Agent 86 kissed Agent 23. LOL! And the best part: the trick worked! WAHAHA! Although the show is not very thick on plot, but it makes up with its comedic actions and the pure acting from the actors. PS: I think that Anne Hathaway is very very pretty

Overall rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars! Pure goodness!

Hmmm, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. What should I say about it? I think I had quite a high expectation for it. I was frankly, a little disappointed leh! What happened to all the action and gross stuff? Indiana Jones was never big on storyline, just more of weird artefacts and religions, AND LOADS OF GROSS ACTION!

It entirely didn't happen at the movie today!

Okay la, there was a part about man-eating ants that were huge, but that didn't provide enough kick for me at all! And what the heck is it with aliens! Wah, I can't believe Indiana Jones deals with aliens now. I actually found myself wishing that the show finished quickly. =x I know it seems mean of me to say it, but I think I was very disappointed with it.

Individually, Harrison Ford still rocks the charm!

Anyway, Achmed has a new car! WAHAHA! Damn cool, such a cool upgrade from her previous car! And woah, she still remembers me. It's damn cute how she remembers me by though. But she almost blinded my eyes today! If I became blind ar, she better send me home. LOL! Cus I wanna sit in her car!

Nice car plate number too =x, but the people were quite irritating.

AND I WAS SO NEAR YET SO FAR TO MY LOVED ONE! Argh! I think it's 95% him lo! Argh should have ran faster!

Hmm it seems like I only start to blog on public holidays! LOL! It's been one week since I blogged. Frankly, there isn't much for me to blog. If I'm not at home, I'm at the driving school. If I'm not at the driving school, I'm at home or at Rosewood. How lame can that be? But I get to save money, that's the one ultimate good thing that deters me from being mentally unstable LOL!

Anyways! I went to watch Iron Man for the 2nd time yesterday! And I must say, it's darn good. And not a moment boring even though I watched it for the 2nd time. Robert Downey Jr's eyes are like so freaking beautiful! He's the absolute person to play Iron Man. dashed with a little humor and action, I think this show is the first action movie I've enjoyed in years!

Oops, before I forget. HAPPY VESAK'S DAY!

Now for Indiana Jones and The Incredible Hulk. Wheee hee! Liv Tyler!
Went to Manhattan Fish Market after that to have dinner. And wow, I think Manhattan Fish Market is better than Fish and Co. leh! And the service is like ichiban! Took a picture of the combo platter that we ordered. Which is frankly for more than 2 people. The portions were so freaking huge! And dear Mr Wong actually ordered so much food la!

"STOP IT WITH THE SALAD!" LOL!

Went for night shooting at Esplanade with AB. And wah, I finally got a chance to really test out the different settings for the camera. And it's really cool man. I don't think my pictures are nice la, but I think with practice, sooner or later should be nice one. xD

I wanna go for morning shoot also! *WHISTLES FOR A CAR!*

oh wow, after a whole week of not blogging. i had a valid reason u see. the beckham pics that are before this post are simply too hot to replace. xD

this week has been freaking busy. finally got my fyp group and project up running and since we're running behind schedule, we probably have to do everything on the double. but i have confidence we can complete the project within 2 months xD

i am rather glad and sad at the same time in the sense that my phone has somewhat died on me already!!!the left panel of my keypad cant be pressed at all now!!!im already somewhat crippled with the left panel gone. imagine the whole phone gone. that would be disastrous

anyways xian's exams are finally over!so today we went to celebrate firstly by lunching at SAKURA!hahaha i tink if we go there any more times the staff there will definitely know that we'll order the same old tings. pineapple rice, fried wanton and tom yum chicken soup. LOL

went to lido where we finally started cam-whoring with the simpsons!!!haha we were going crazy, or rather it was me who was going crazy. aft the simpsons i started taking pictures with every movie poster board there was LOL. just absolutely crazy.


and i finally watched harry potter!!!


okay it wasn't as good as the previous few. but it's considered quite okay for a newbie director and the fact that cramping 700 pages in a 2 hr 15mins movie is a really tough ting to do. of cus, the 3 musketeers' actings have improved. however, HERMIONE IS NOT AS CHIO AS IN THE 4TH MOVIE!


rawr it makes me boil. i watch because of hermione. but the one good ting is that i can finally see some ai mei between ron and hermione. wahaha. cant wait for the next movie where they actually get together. other than that, bellatrix lestrange and nymphadora tonks were the absolute coolest for this movie!


while loony, no, luna lovegood was the surprise good looker in the show. muahahha she's so dreamy and her hair. so damn nice xD


the sad ting is that sirius died in the show. but the funny ting is that he died rather lamely as compared to the book. hmmm. shucks. anyway dolores umbridge was SUPER BITCHY IN THIS SHOW. omg i totally hate her so much. but that's why she did her role so well. LOL.look at her hiao face. she reminds me of mrs wong, who was my chem teacher in BBSS. =x


lord voldemort as usual was bad ass. nothing much to say as usual. i cant wait for the next movie.lol.

time passes real quickly.

it's another 3 more weeks before sectional competition. and i have to say, the entire section is totally not worried or even passionate about playing. i really hope we can get at least the top3 for the section comp, and not lose face anymore

windstone suite last year was shitty.

anyway it's about 1 week plus more to japan!and i totally cant wait. parts for the music have been sorted out and now we're practising as hard as ever can be. for now, my focus is on band band and band. dun get anything in my way.

am i more strict now that im an SL? i dun tink so, in fact i've been rather lenient as compared to joyce or even joanne. and being lenient sucks. no one listens to you. i get shitty tings like 'not coming for band. sorry' HELLO WHERE'S THE BLOODY REASON?

i dun care if any shitty excuse has to be coughed up, jus give me an excuse so that i can account for the attendance. and it's not as if we're the best section in the world who have the most marvellous players around. in fact, this standard is way below my target. i know, because i too myself am trying to improve.

where's the passion?this is the 2nd time that i've talked about it. sometimes it sucks being an SL.

anyway on to happier stuff. i've watched shrek 3 and it's niceeeeee. much better than spiderman3 in my opinion. of cus my fave character is still donkey and donkey xD puss in boots was cute as well. he tried giving that eyes again!haha.

but i dun like justin timberlake. rawr

btw i watched potc 3. didn't find it that nice, and somemore i felt it's quite a mixed feeling ending!orlando became the captain of the flying dutchman and he can only see keira 1 day in 10 years!!!omg omg omg. so sad

but the best ting was of cus johnny depp. omg. he's so cute can!i loved the part where he was finding how to get out of the living dead zone and he was running from the one side of the ship to another. omg omg.

and his one liners. so darn cute!but the sad ting was that he didn't have much to say this time. and chow yun fat was irritating. 'welcome to singapore'

okay thanks. singapore is not liddat lo. 'more steam!'

overall i would give it a 3/5 haha. the 3 belonging all to johnny depp. without him, the show is really a flop

i wanna be a good teacher for percussion. because i don't like it when im lousy and im not as good as people. so hence thereforth I MUS PRACTISE!

spiderman3 wasn't really that good. i tink with too many subplots the storyline was not able to be concentrated fully. everyone's part except tobey's were like cameo parts, mebbe with the exception of thomas haden church who did a SUPER GOOD JOB. i could actually feel his anguish that he had to steal money to treat his daughter.

while james franco's body is very very hot!i would choose him before spiderman lo. his smile and his eyes are soooo nice. they're like lopsided. one side big one side small. very sexy!!!! haha and his smile ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!

tobey macguire couldn't cry at all man!!!i mean, his crying scenes were excruciating to watch man. zzz

not much comments about the show. only that it wasn't as good as the first two. 3.5/5 stars for meee!

anyways the perc section has been meeting up like almost everyday man!haha and it's always the same people. me kelly sixian weiloong and yuyao wahaha. i tink this is damn good la. considering that the perc section of yesteryears weren't very together together. xD

seriously i wonder if mediacorp is falling into the trap of TVB a.k.a bringer of bad endings to dramas.

this is happening in the case of MAKING MIRACLES which stars the absolutely 'no singaporean can find fault with her' fann wong. the earnest darren lim, and the gentlemanly terence cao. omg? their love triangle is sooooooooo predictable that if the love triangle of the drama were to be put into 4D or TOTO, i would definitely have been shaking my leg in the hot sun at the pool at my bungalow throwing money into the swimming pool for fish to eat.



omg!how predictable can it be? but i don't blame the writers. no matter what, there's only a few ways in which we can draw up a love triangle. but does the ending have to be only when some natural disaster strikes and they finally overcome all obstacles and make merry? T_T. of cus before that, the male lead has to lose his memory due to his heroic acts of saving a lady when in danger. but that's absolutely blah!!!he can actually lose his memory by jus being whacked in the head by a stick, while the other guy who fell from the roof down and hit his head DIDN'T LOSE HIS MEMORY AT ALL?!

wow!i tink the producers favor the better looking people. zzz

but right on the other hand, there was another love triangle in the show taking the form of a young nurse, a doctor and the financial manager of the hospital.the doctor actually falls for the young nurse when she made for him a warm meal that reminded him of his late mother!GASPPPP!so sweet can!plus the fact that's he totally gentlemanly and does not resort to those outlandish methods to charm a girl. instead he does what he does best: curing patients.



so sweeeet can. IMO, i feel this is one of the best love relationships that mediacorp has scripted out. cus it shows that true love happens when you go all out to help someone and unknowingly fall in love with the person. im so glad. so hence thereforth, old men are much better. more stable more matured. lol

but having said that. i am sooooooo gonna contradict myself.

was watching this show yesterday:


and trust me. ryan phillippe is VERY VERY VERY HOT!!!darn!!!he and reese witherspoon were a PERFECT COUPLE!!!this show is about this pair of step siblings who make a bet. and the target of the bet is reese witherspoon. ryan is supposed to bed her before sch term starts, and if he wins, he gets to bed michelle sarah gellar, who is his step sister. and if sarah wins she gets his prized car.

ryan starts out with only the mission of bedding reese. but as time goes on, he falls in love gradually unknowingly with reese and vice versa. one of the most touching moments was aft they had visited the old folks home and ryan was feeling down, so reese did all the funny faces to make ryan laugh, and held his hand.

OMGGGGGGGGGGGGOD!

however due to ryan being unwilling at first to sacrifice his reputation. but as he realises later on, he cannot do without reese and goes to find her. where they consumate their relationship. omgggggod! but the sad part of the show comes when ryan saves reese from being knocked down by the car and instead gets hit and dies. but before he dies he tells reese 'i love you annette' and reese replied 'i love you too sebastian'

argh!HEARTPAIN!i was crying ballistically when i saw the ending.

definitely a good show to watch haha. esp when reese and ryan are inside. they seriously make the best cute couple ever. it's seriously my loss that they broke up =(
